Description

Character Design assignment I had to do for the Game Development Course, Second Semester.

Quite proud of this... enough to post here. Critique would be highly valued at this point

He's not quite human btw, look at the legs. Also yea, he's missing a head. I have to write a BIO of some kind for him, which I'll perhaps upload shortly to this description.

*EDIT BIO*

Height: 5’7
Width: 156lbs
Age: Unknown
Sex: Presumably Male
Race: Faun

Maragos is a mysterious headless Faun that was summoned to the mortal plane by an unknown force. He’s presumably male, but only because he never removes his clothing. His origins are unknown. Maragos is bound by a pact he made with an unknown being when he was taken prisoner after a large war, to assassinate key figures within the mortal plane, where said beings couldn’t have ventured. His head was removed and replaced by a Will o’ wisp as a sign of his pact and as a supervisor for his deeds. Luckily, the Will o’ wisp wasn’t as loyal to the evil creatures, and helped Maragos through a loophole within his pact, which allowed him to be free of the Mysterious Being’s Pact, but only if he protects those he’s ordered to assassinate.

Maragos wears the same armor he wore all those years ago, but with the addition of a special pair of gauntlets, boots and a helm protecting the Will o’ wisp he bears. Maragos fights with his fists, as he does not believe in lethal combat. Maragos see’s fighting with his fists the true natural way to fight, and allows him to be stronger and faster in combat without the skills needed to wield any other type of weaponry. The gauntlets he wears are thick, leather gloves with a gold plate that protects the top of his hands and steel cuffs to protect his wrists. Maragos’ Helm was granted to him to protect the Will o’ wisp on his head. The boots are much the same as the gauntlets.

Maragos is a skilled combatant, in his own form of martial arts associated with his gauntlets. His skill and uniqueness to fighting with large gauntlets only, has granted him the name among the people “The Gold Brawler”. Maragos, who’s able to speak through the will o’ wisp, doesn’t. Instead, he lets the will o’ wisp speak for him, as a sign of humility and modesty. The only times ever recorded of him truly speaking (which is a much lower tone than the will o’ wisp’s) was when he would be defeated in 1 on 1 duels with masters of other martial arts. Although Maragos mainly fights with his fists, his boots allow him to kick just as strongly, but not as efficiently. Because of his race, Maragos is a very quick and agile creature. With the strength of his gauntlets, and his dexterity (despite the boots), Maragos is a very hard to hit and dodge combatant.

Because of the pact he’s bound by, he’s forever headless, but not immortal. Maragos has suffered many close calls in his years of protection, especially against the very beings that captured him. To this day, folks still wonder in awe at what type of man he was before the war, what he looked like, and if he ever had a family. Only Maragos and the will o’ wisp knows, and knowing how willingly the wisp talks, the wisp has never spoken a word about Maragos’ past.

I have a question: Was inspiration for this character taken from the following existing characters:

Templars from Hellgate London
Magna Defender from Lost Galaxy

Also, I eagerly await the BIO. Looking to be a cool character.
